MOTOCROSSTIME - NEWS FROM RIDE ENINEERING

RAPTOR PEGS:

Our first shipment has arrived! We have six styles to fit all brands (Hon, KTM, Yam, Husky, Kawi and Suz). The quality and workmanship of the Raptor peg (fabricated then hand welded in the United Kingdom) is second to none. They are made of high quality 6V-4AL titanium material, come with light weight stainless steel springs and fit perfectly every time. These beauties at 57mm wide are the lightest pegs ever made that can hold up to the abuse of Factory teams from both here in the States and Europe. With a retail price of just $350, they are a work of art and now available from Ride Engineering. See them in on AMAZON.ride-enginnering-raptor-pegs

2018 RMZ450:

We started testing triple clamp offsets on our new Ride Eng. test bike. We currently make a 20mm and a 22mm (stock in 21.5). We will be switching back and forth at several local So. Cal tracks to determine which is best. Sure Suzuki’s handle great stock, but we’ve made improvements on the previous 2008-2017 version. The 20mm offsets made the front end more planted and allowed the rider to get on the gas earlier. Now the 2018 model has an all new frame and it’s been made shorter to put even more weight on the front wheel. It has also been redesigned to have much more flex than the bike Roczen won the 2016 AMA motocross championship on. With only one track day so far, the 20s seem to make the bike carve through corners even easier without exhibiting any knifing issues. Of course we added a Showa Damper to calm the bike when the track gets rough. Are they too aggressive for this new chassis? We’ll find out as we visit tracks like Glen Helen, Perris, Milestone and Competitive Edge over the next few weeks. For more info on triple clamp offset, see # 4) below.

Racing News:

Ricky Russell wound up on the box at the 13th and final GNCC of the season held October 29th in Crawfordsville, IN. The rookie also held on to 3rd overall for the season in the premier XC1 450 pro class finishing behind Kailub Russell and Thad DuVall respectively. Josh Toth wrapped up the XC2 250 pro class championship several rounds earlier. Congratulations to the AmPro Yamaha team! We are stoked that you rely on our triple clamps to handle the rigors of off-road racing. Ride Eng. is looking forward to an even more successful 2018 season.
